This Chautauqua Lake Pops storefront in Mayville NY was set up last summer with its colorful street level framed Pops posters and welcoming bright blue/white awning to create a welcoming main street presence. During these uncertain times I thought this photo would provide hope that the Pops and all we have come to enjoy in the county will continue though it may not be .. just around the corner. I will remain positive and accept whatever the Pops decision is .. going forward. For now, we all have gathered many wonderful memories that began in Bemus Point and continued last summer in Mayville. In th meantime, I will continue to bring you Pops memories on this blog through the written word and selected photos.
On the wall inside the Pops office are these words by Phineas Taylor Barnum .. "The noblest art is that of making others happy". Barnum (July 5, 1810-April 7, 1891) was an American showman, politician and businessman remembered for founding the Barnum and Bailey Circus (1871-2017).
The quote at the end of the movie, The Greatest Showman was "No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else."
