This is "Barbra Streisand" and "Neil Diamond" posing with your Maestro Muse writer. It was taken after their amazing Chautauqua Lake Pops show last summer.
Barbra is elegantly portrayed by Sharon Owens and Neil is handsomely portrayed by Gary Gomez. The Diamond Project Band is dedicated to performing a true replication of the musical styling of a live Neil Diamond concert. Rather than give the audience a straight studio version of Neil's classics, they strive to incorporate the excitement, energy and musicianship that only a live show can provide. They leave audiences with the satisfaction that they have experienced a true and well deserved tribute to one of America's foremost talents .. Neil Diamond! Gary did not disappoint last summer nor did he disappoint when he brought his show to the floating stage many times in Bemus Point NY.
The Diamond Project is America's best Neil Diamond tribute band. A ten-piece ensemble that includes some of Ohio's most accomplished musicians.
The Diamond Project Band is on Facebook and there you will find a beautiful video of "Neil" singing September Morning with his personal message .. Stay well everyone. Peace and Love.
Sharon Owens as the legendary Ms. Streisand lives in Las Vegas Nevada. Upon graduating from high school in 1984, Ms. Owens began her journey into the real world of touring with American Entertainment Company in Columbus Ohio. After a year on the road opening for country acts such as the Mandrell Sisters, the Letterman and Willie Nelson, Sharon decided to stop and get her education before returning to the world of entertainment. Sharon never realized that she would become a pioneer in the tribute business. Unlike many of the other impersonators who are "lookalikes" she didn't study voice and acting simply to be called a tribute artist.
"Imitating Streisand became an acting job. So many movies have been made where famous actors immerse themselves into their movie character and then tell a life story of the real person. I simply do the same, but on stage", said Owens.
Soon after starting out as a dynamic mimic of the incomparable Streisand, Sharon began to take the comedy routine more seriously. She honed her Brooklyn accent, studied Barbra's intense vocal sounds and spent hours recreating her look with gorgeous gowns. In the 15 years of her career, she has been featured on Entertainment Tonight and in People Magazine.
In addition to performing solo, Sharon and her business partner, Sebastian Anzaldo have an international show entitled Barbra and Frank, The Concert That Never Was!
A funny story from this Funny Girl:
"My youngest son, Chad, when he was in kindergarten in Las Vegas, told his teacher that his mom was Barbra Streisand. When I went to the first parent/teacher conference, the teacher was ready with her camera! Of course, to be totally confused when I arrived. My oldest son attended many of my early concerts. He's the only child I know who could bring a picture of himself and Elvis to his classroom's Show and Tell. Both my boys are the only 2 kids in the world who knew all the words to People", said Owens.
"It is an honor to tribute such an amazing, talented, gifted and giving philanthropist. A woman who paved the way for so many women who dare to dream big."
"If you are a fan or not, you will be a fan of Sharon when the show is over."
Btw, Sharon is exactly one month older than Jason Elliot Gould, Streisand's son by actor, Elliot Gould.
