Vincent Ingala
I couldn't feature many talented singers for the month of December without including the very talented saxophone player, Vincent Ingala. Several years ago I suggested to Dan Dalpra, CEO Chautauqua Lake Pops to bring in this young man to appear on the floating stage in Bemus Point. He extended the invitation and like magic, Vinnie came and entertained the audience on land and on water over a July 4th weekend. Thank you, Dan.
The video above features singer, Ariana Savalas performing Merry Christmas All. If her last name sounds familiar, it is because her late father was actor and singer, Telly Savalas. She was only 7 years old when her father passed in 1994. Ariana is proud of her father Telly, but is making a name for herself.
The kids of celebrities have a very mixed track record over the years when it comes to achieving success on screen or with music. That's not the case for singer Ariana who has become a rising star in the jazz world. The 28 year-old singer has performed with jazz saxophone player, Kenny G.
"It makes me so happy to be performing for people to know who I am because it keeps him alive for me." Ariana Savalas's career started in musical theater which lead to jazz and caberet gigs. Among the places she has taken her act is the Dave Koz Lounge in Beverly Hills and the famous jazz saxophonist is one of her fans.
"I've not seen that kind of pure talent in a very long time. Ariana's got it all, and no matter where she's doing her thing it seems that no one can take their eyes off of her. She's completely electric and such a hoot!"
I think you'll agree that her teaming up with Ingala on this Christmas album is a "match made in heaven".
