This was a Chautauqua Lake Pops evening in 2019 with many boats awaiting another Pops concert. Among them was a large pink flamingo often times referred to as a .. floatmingo.
According to WKBW, The Flamingo is the unofficial mascot of Olmstead .. "FLOmingo" in honor of Frederick Law Olmsted who designed Delaware Park. The boat rentals were added to celebrate FLOmingo Day on June 21.
Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903), America's first and greatest landscape architect designed a system of parks and parkways in Buffalo that was the first of its kind in the nation and represents one of his largest bodies of work.

Flomingos are available for rent at $15 per half hour and can be rented in front of The Terrace Restaurant in Delaware Park. The rentals are run by the Buffalo Maritime Center and run from 12-8 every day, weather permitting. Each flamingo is sanitized between rides for everyone's safety.
A FLOmingo is a paddle boat shaped like a pink flamingo.
