This is Robin Grandin also known to her fans as Rockin' Robin. She performed her contemporary country act at the Italian Fisherman for many years. Robin is a musically exciting and unusual solo performer. She is not like any other solo artist you have ever heard!
Singer-flute-acoustic guitar-bass player-mandolin-penny whistle playin' - computer geek Robin Grandin is the party co-ordinator that creates a musical experience that will keep you singin' along to all your favorite songs and jumpin' up on the dance floor all night long! This combination of musical variety along with modern technology are the ingredients for an entertaining and fun package of musical styles ranging from classic rock favorites, groovin' Motown tunes that will get you on your feet, great country favorites and even a little bluegrass. All the vocals, instruments and music that you hear has been sung and played by Rockin' Robin! Robin is the complete musical package! A favorite of mine is a Pop song titled, Game of Love originally recorded and released in 2002 by Santana with vocalist, Michelle Branch. Robin always performed it for me, upon request. Thank you, Robin.
In her description "computer geek" is included because she owns and operates Grandin Graphics. Among Robin's many clients she created the graphics for Dan Dalpra, owner of the Italian Fisherman and CEO of the Bemus Bay Pops and now the graphics for the Chautauqua Lake Pops. The photo below of Robin and Dan was taken at the Italian Fisherman.
A big part of Robin's creativity lies in the fact that she has been a musician for many years from Buffalo to Las Vegas to Nashville to many other locations across the USA and Western Canada. Robin has spent over 20 years on the road making her living playing and creating music. She has stock-piled a boat load of original music, memories and experiences in the entertainment industry. Robin has appeared with many recording artists some of which include George Jones, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Mickey Gilley, Patty Loveless, Ricky Skaggs, Aaron Tippin, Sawyer Brown, Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, Delbert McClinton, Lorrie Morgan and Vince Gill. During her time at the Italian Fisherman in Bemus Point she performed on the floating stage with the Bemus Bay Pops Symphony Orchestra over the Labor Day weekend.
Close to Robin and her sister, Paula's heart is Music to Remember WNY. It is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) partner program of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame. Its goal is to expand the reach of the program to include patients and veterans of all ages. Buffalo Music Hall of Fame members play an important role, serving as "ambassadors" on site, performing and also working closely with both the other Music to Remember WNY performers and facility staff during appearances.
Robin Grandin's sister-in-law, Jackie Volk often performs with Robin as a dynamic singing duo.
The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame's Musician Medics program has been delivering the healing power of music to hospital patients and veterans at the VA across the Buffalo-Niagara region since 2014. Their highly successful 5 year mission of providing healing and comfort through the power of music to individuals and families during their time of need has made its mark throughout the Western New York community.
The program debuted in Niagara County in 2018, thanks in large part to an initial $5,000 donation for the Falls Hard Rock and Hard Rock Heals.
In May 2017, Musician Medics partnered with Music to Remember WNY and expanded programming to include providing music to senior homes and assisted living facilities with Alzheimer's and dementia units.
The Musician Medics completed its successful 5 year plan on December 31, 2019. Because of an already established partnership with Music to Remember WNY and because the two groups have a similiar mission, Music to Remember WNY has agreed to assume the programs Musician Medics so the "Healing Energy" can continue.
Below is a Concert Hour from "Home" video that Robin performed on April 28, 2020.
In 2017, she recorded a CD entitled Memories of the Heart. This song was written by Robin and comes from personal experience. Her sweet Mom was afflicted with Alzheimer's. On the Music to Remember WNY website Robin shares these heartfelt words to us.
"Mom has Alzheimer's plain and simple. When a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia, you feel totally helpless. Slowly our loved ones become frail and distant and eventually it's up to us to care for our parents as they once cared for each of us. Mom can't remember our names or what day it is or who the people are in the pictures of our family on the wall, but when we walk in to see her where she lives we call her Mom and she knows that in some way we belong to her and we love her."
"You were always there for me, and as far as I can see, it's the least I can do, to be there for you, I'll hold your memories in my heart."
