This is Russ Illig. He is a sound man for Raven Sound located in Erie PA. This photo was taken in Bemus Point NY at the Bemus Bay Pops. Russ was also the sound man for the newly named Chautauqua Lake Pops in Mayville NY during the 2019 summer concert series. His wife, Trish accompanied him in the sound booth last summer.
Raven Sound was founded in 1971. It first offered area musicians an outlet to purchase and rent electronic equipment. Owned by Phil & Tim Papotnik, Raven Sound's main interest is serving regional and visiting national bands plus orchestras by supplying stage equipment and set-up. Speakers, amplifiers, microphones and back-line musical instruments are supplied to performers, venues and festivals through the Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio tri-state region. Phil is involved with rentals and Tim, his brother is involved with sales and installations.
Phil has crews of dedicated and trained musicians to transform any stage into an experience of a lifetime for any music loving audience. There specialities are sound equipment rentals, sound engineering, lighting rentals, rigging rentals, home speaker installation and indoor/outdoor sound design.
