The floating stage has been a visible entity in Chautauqua County since 2003. Some of us have had the experience of standing or even performing on the 60 X 60 platform structure with its massive metal and fabric canopy. Perhaps you have spotted the stage traversing the lake in early Spring to its Summer destination or in late Fall when it returns to a local marina for its winter hibernation.  When Dan Dalpra decided to take the Bemus Bay Pops symphonic orchestra conducted by the late Bruce Morton Wright off the roof of the Italian Fisherman prior to Labor Day weekend he placed the talented musicians onto the stage that floats to the continued delight of his audiences.

The tribute bands who have performed through the years love the experience and enjoy entertaining spectators from a unique venue surrounded by water.  It's a 360 degree summer atmosphere of great music, special lighting and fireworks that many have described as .. simply magical.  A quote from Tony Ferrara who is a talented guitar player with The Groove based in Erie PA told me prior to The Groove performing on this stage in 2016 .. We can't wait to float". A great quote!

The Pops is a visionary production and marketing company dedicated to "bringing the arts to the people".  The floating stage is a unique concept in recreation and entertainment where the performance floats right before your very eyes!  In the early years, the stage did not have a section that brought performers closer to the audience.  Eventually, the stage was extended which allowed the performers an "up close and personal" experience with the audience and visa versa.

The floating stage joins the ranks with another floating stage located in Singapore, The Float at Marina Bay.  It is the largest floating stage in the world.

The Chautauqua Lake Pops floating stage is a unique stage in recreation and entertainment where the performance floats before your eyes!

Be safe.
