The Chippewa Lake Water Ski Show Team is Ohio's only competitive water ski show team.  Their "home lake" is in Medina, 1/2 hour from Cleveland and the Akron metro area.  The team is actively recruiting new members during the winter months.  Monthly training and practices are held at the Akron General Health and Wellness Center. 

The team performs many types of water skiing which includes slalom, barefoot, doubles, swivel, ballet, wakeboard, jumps and hydrofoil.

This team of talented water skiers were a popular show on Chautauqua Lake whenever they appeared at the Bemus Bay Pops during the summer season.

Dan Dalpra's granddaughter, Emma gets a thrilling ride on the shoulders of team member, Matt Ribley at the Bemus Bay Pops ski show!

"After all the excitement of a great show and an amazing crowd, Emma was excited to hop on my shoulders for a ride with no hesitation!  For me, this is what it's all about when introducing my love and passion for water sports to others and watching the excitement it gives all walks of life, big or small.  Emma was a great sport and if memory serves me correctly, we were able to take her out and all the way back in keeping her hair dry the entire time."

Boats and Kayaks Galore @ the Pops! 

Each Pops season overlooking Bemus Bay concert audiences on the lawn, at the Fish Tank or from the Italian Fisherman restaurant patio and decks would see hundreds of boats anchored offshore .. separately or together awaiting another concert either from the roof of the restaurant or in later years from the floating stage. It was a sight to behold as the boaters would sound their horns to express delight in being part of another fun and relaxing afternoon or evening on Bemus Bay!

Dan always referred to the audience on water as "the boat people".  These boats and their owners were a special part of any Pops experience at any summer concert. As each beautiful sunset disappeared beyond the distant shoreline and night descended upon the Pops the lights from all the boats appeared like scattered diamonds floating upon the water!

And it was always an added treat when the Chautauqua Belle came by the Pops and blew its distinctive whistle from the Captain's bridge!

If you were there for these "Kodak moments", then you know how special they all were .. @ the Pops on Bemus Bay!
